Best Practice Network Launching in Western Australia

Our major national members highlighted the need for their Western Australian counterparts to be offered the opportunity to participate in the Best Practice Network. In response, we are pleased to announce the launch of our new business network in Western Australia on the 14th of June.

With thriving well established fast growing networks across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, it seemed like the right time to expand into Perth. Best Practice Network are fast approaching 100 member companies, and are presenting over 60 events per year from Site Visits, Special Interest Groups, Workshops Leadership Panels and a variety of social networking gatherings. This has accounted for invaluable peer to peer networking connections across industry, as is highlighted by some recent feedback from new Victorian member Total Auto Recyclers.

“While it was really a pleasure to give you an insight in to what we do at Total Auto Recyclers, it was really our team who benefitted the most without a doubt. What a privilege it was for us to have such great minds from the Best Practice Network industry leaders to focus their expertise  on our business for a few short hours.  A priceless opportunity.” Total Auto Recyclers CEO & Chairman

We already have four confirmed events, the first of which to be hosted on 14 June by CSR Viridian in Perth. Registrations for this event are now open.

Rick Terpstra will outline the National CSR Manufacturing and Maintenance  WAY – a key part of their business improvement journey over the past 10 years. Rick presented an outstanding talk at the Best Practice Network Operational Excellence Summit in Sydney earlier this year and his recent event at CSR Viridian in Melbourne was fully booked.

Following the CSR event we have three more events already confirmed:

  • Asahi (formerly Schweppes) Beverages in Welshpool on 25 July where the Asahi team will outline their excellent Lean systems based on Asahi’s unique operational excellence system (OES).
  • Kmart Distribution in Jandakot on 22 August. This is a brand new facility for Kmart and is setting the benchmark for distribution centre operations around Australia. A great chance to see one of Australia’s most efficient supply chains in action.
  • Australian Submarine Corporation in Henderson in September will provide a chance to learn how Lean Thinking has helped dramatically improve the availability of Australia’s fleet of Collins Class Submarines.

We are also pleased to announce that US Lean Expert and specialist on Shop Floor (Gemba) coaching, Michael Bremer will run an exclusive workshop in Perth as part of his national Best Practice Network tour in November.

We expect to announce further Perth events and details over the next few months, so keep an eye on our events page for all updates.
