Best Practice Network Member Request: GWF Baking NZ “Inducting Frontline Workers”

George Weston Foods is the great company behind some of New Zealand’s best-loved brands like Tip Top, Burgen, Golden, Big Ben and Ploughmans Bakery.

With a high number of frontline workers, and a significant proportion being temporary agency workers, we are regularly training new people within a manufacturing or process environment.

I am reaching out to the network to get an understanding of how other companies are inducting new frontline workers into their organisations. Particularly, any techniques or training design that has worked for them to ensure that the new starters are equipped with the right understanding of the role and business, as well as the right tools to perform.

I am interested to hear from anyone in the network who can assist with how to best provide a mix of in-class room and on-the-job training as part of onboarding and induction within a manufacturing or process environment.

If you can assist, please contact me via email.

Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation.
